Babum became the fifth King of Kish, the premier kingship in Sumer. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief because his name was much easier to pronounce than that of his predecessor. Mispronouncing a king’s name is, in general, not a good way to go.

Nobody knows what his name means, but all of the sons and daughters of Ham nearly extincted themselves from laughing so hard when a young child innocently confused Babum’s name with “Baboon.”
