Some thought it excessive to build yet another well, since this community already had one dug in 5089 BC. The Linearbandkeramik (LBK) culture stays squeaky clean with fresh water. The well was dug with maplewood spades and picks. The well is lined with oaken planks with tongue-and-groove joints. A rope made of lime bast attached to a bark bag is used to retrieve water.
