On the first day of man’s attempt to survive without a repeat of Armageddon, 95% of the spaceships capable of interstellar travel left planet earth in one, bold, mass exodus.

It was well-understood that planet earth was left almost entirely unprotected should the exodus incur the ire of advanced alien species. On the other hand, spreading mankind’s seed as far and wide as possible was determined to be most likely way to guard against the extinction of the race of Homo sapiens.

The first true search for inhabitable planets amongst the stars of the Milky Way had begun.
